Mr. ROBERT TAN SY was born on May 26, 1952 in San Juan, Metro Manila. He is 3rd from the youngest among nine (9) children of Mr. & Mrs. Syhongpan and Tan Shu Sy. He finished his school years through his own initiative and strived very hard by working at the age of 13 as delivery boy and helper of his brother-in-law. He supported his own studies up to High School and College through his hard earned money. After High School, he worked in Continental Manufacturing from 1970 to 1979 as Delivery/Collector and was promoted as Marketing Sales Representative up to the position of Assistant to the Vice-President (Export Sales) until he finished his College Course of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
After ten (10) years of serving the Continental Manufacturing Corp., he transferred to Lakeview Garments from 1979-1984 holding a position of Operation Manager. And in 1984 up to the present, he was able to establish his first company which is ROBBIES INTERNATIONAL SALES. From 1984 to 1988, he joined JAG & HAGGER JEANS as Vice-President. From 1998 to 1990, he became the President & General Manager of Basic Garments Phils., Inc.
On the year 1990, he decided to establish and put up his first garments company, the RNB GARMENTS PHILS., INC. which is the fulfillment of his dream as Successful Entrepreneur and expanded with another four (4) garments company: RRI, DYNAMICS, R-1 and ROBELLE GARMENTS PHILS., INC. These companies through the help of God compete in terms of quality and reliability of manpower efficiency and give jobs to 2,000 workers that benefited double or triple the number their families. He also put up RTS Scholarship Foundation that provides free education funds to qualified children of his workers who cannot afford to support and sustain the education of their children.
Mr. Sy as Head of the family is a role model of his only son, Mr. Robert Sy II, in running their business by giving him expert management system based on his own job experiences. A very understanding and good provider to his wife and most of all a devoted and loving son of his mother who unfortunately passed away on August 2003. He also supports the education of his nieces and nephews and grandchildren, provides shelter to his brother and sister, sharing with them his blessing as a result of his devotion to his work. A great boss to his workers and employees by assisting them with their financials needs by providing them medical assistance, housing & small business loan and funds for their family needs.
